Exploring the Self Through Mask Making
April 11th - 12th, 2009

In this workshop we will discover hidden aspects of the self through the art of mask making. Incorporating a depth psychological approach, we will work with images from our dreams and imagination. Guided by these images, we will create unique masks out of sculpted leather. These masks are not only beautiful and expressive, but also light weight and comfortable to wear. This exercise is a powerful tool for deepening self-awareness, as well as a fun way to explore creativity.
$150 - includes materials (sliding scale fee available)
Location is in Penngrove, CA - directions will be given at time of registration

Myths, Masks, Rites & Rituals - an exhibition of art associated with fantasy, mythology, rituals, and other roots of the mysterious. From all places in the world, one finds reference to the elements of ritual and survival that our traditions are based upon. This exhibition will include artists whose work is based on these ancient rites and rituals, and its reflection in the contemporary world.
There will be a masquerade reception on October 30 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Please come wearing a mask!
